Accepting a position at NCBIS is not just another job – it is an opportunity to join a school community that is warm, friendly and committed to school’s vision of making education relevant for the 21st century.
With an annual staff turnover of between 10 – 12 per cent a year, our school enjoys very stable staffing levels. This is a reflection of the fact that teachers enjoy working at NCBIS and are able to establish a comfortable standard of living in Egypt.
If you join the team at NCBIS you can expect to work hard, but be well remunerated for your efforts. Whilst it may be a cliché, we really do seek to appoint energetic committed teachers that have a real passion for teaching. We seek people that teach for understanding and not simply to a test score; that are well versed in the use of technology in learning; and critically who have a keen support for the philosophies and practices connected to international mindedness and life-long learning.
We are keen to appoint candidates that we consider as being ‘Teacher Plus’. These are educationalists that see their job as extending beyond the classroom and harbour a willingness to offer something extra to the school community through our extra-curricular activities programme, community service, expeditions and the like.
NCBIS is a school that is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicants will be expected to undertake the necessary checks with previous employers and the DBS or police authorities.
NCBIS is aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, and we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection.
