Dutch Risk Takers

Dutch Risk Takers

The meaning of the attribute “risk taker” in the learner’s profile can easily be misinterpreted. Being a risk taker does not mean jeopardising your safety, but rather having the courage to step out of your comfort zone. By doing so you improve your chances to progress beyond your present boundaries.

You can only be a risk taker if you are confident that those around you will assist you, should you fail.

At the NCBIS Dutch Stream we give our students ample opportunity to exercise this trait from the earliest years on. Even in the younger years students are asked to demonstrate their skills in front of classmates. Musical performances and productions are also a wonderful way to practise being  a risk taker. The wonderful Primary Dutch music performance “Around the world – a 1000 years” was a good example of this.
