Our Requirements

At NCBIS we seek to recruit people who agree with and reflect the attributes of the IB Learner Profile: teaching professionals who are open minded, communicators, thinkers, knowledgeable, principled, risk takers, caring, balanced, reflective and respectful.

To be the best school in the region, we seek only the very best teachers. Teachers at NCBIS are hard working and very committed to the students in their care. We in turn seek to appoint individuals that share these work habits and who are passionate about education. We seek teachers who are truly reflective in their practice, open to new ideas, always curious to learn more about how they might improve, and willing to go the extra mile for their students.

Teachers interested in working at NCBIS should preferably have experience in teaching the PYP and IB Diploma programmes, or alternatively, should share in the teaching philosophy and practices promoted by the International Baccalaureate Organisation. Experience in working with the British National Curriculum is an advantage.

We see ourselves very much as a learning community and as such are look for teaching professionals who have the ability to collaborate and share their own expertise with colleagues.

Our focus on academic accomplishment is only part of the educational experience we offer our students. The wider curriculum allows our students to pursue and widen their interests in a wide array of areas, including sports, languages, music, drama and environmental and charitable concerns.

Our membership of national, regional and international organisations such as COBIS, CIBSA, CISSA and ISAC permits our students to travel both within Egypt and beyond and engage in activities, competitions and conferences with students from like-minded schools, thereby ‘broadening their horizons’ in the fullest sense. The Council of International Schools (CIS), of which we are an accredited member, commended our pastoral programme as a particular strength and visitors to our school always remark on the calm and caring atmosphere that prevails among all year groups.

None of this would be possible without teachers of the highest calibre, recruited from the best UK and international schools worldwide. Should you be looking for a new adventure in Egypt, with opportunities for professional development and career advancement within an international setting, then look no further – we may well be the perfect match!

NCBIS is an equal opportunities employer committed to the ongoing professional development of all our employees, and actively promotes the well-being and resilience of both students and staff. We are familiar with, and uphold, all Safeguarding Policies and Child Protection Procedures within the school, and are fully committed to safer recruiting procedures above and beyond legal requirements.

Contracts are mainly for a two-year initial period, renewable by mutual consent. A re-signing bonus is awarded annually after the completion of the initial two year contract. Salaries are in accordance with British pay scales, tax-free, and there is a 400 Sterling baggage allowance per person, annual return flight, BUPA medical insurance, a generous accommodation allowance and free school places for staff children.

The full documentation requirements will be sent to the successful candidate. NCBIS reimburses all costs of the application process (e.g. medical tests, DBS/police background checks, courier services for documents). We also organise the work permit here in Egypt, which will be completed on your arrival in country.
