For Challenges Week, our Silver Duke of Edinburgh International Award teams stepped out of their comfort zones and took on the hills and forests of Cyprus for their Adventurous Journey. After two years of Bronze treks and practices in the Wadi Degla, this was a fresh challenge with a completely different environment.
Firstly, we had two intensive days of acclimatisation and preparation, getting our navigation in particular on track. We then were ready for the three day Adventurous Journey to begin. Here, our two teams, going by the names of “Oceaneers” and “90 Degrees”, boldly met the challenges, hugely impressing the independent assessor and passing with flying colours.
So, congratulations to all, and thank you to those that helped make it happen as there will be many fond memories of this trip to this beautiful part of the island in the years to come.
