ISTA Drama Conference
Our budding year 9 and 10 Drama students had the opportunity to attend the ISTA drama festival weekend at the start of February at the Cairo American College. The weekend saw schools from all over Cairo come together along with a school from Beirut and Brussels to create, rehearse and finally perform an original piece to their parents.
The aims of the weekend were to refine and develop student’s devising approach to drama and give them the chance to work with other students who are passionate about drama.
The students spent three days attending workshops run by professional Artists from Europe and Egypt followed by a visit to the Sakkara complex for our site specific drama inspiration. The final day was spent working in ensembles to devise drama based on the rich history of the pyramids.
It is safe to say that the amazing students from NCBIS threw themselves into the dramatic weekend. As well as developing their own understanding of drama many came away having made new friends from across the globe.
