Goodbye Year 13 and Head Boy/Head Girl elections at NCBIS this week!
This week has been one of mixed emotions as we said goodbye to our wonderful Year 13 students who begin their study leave prior to the commencement of their IBDP examinations in a couple of weeks’ time. During assembly we celebrated their time at NCBIS – for 5 students, this meant their entire schooling since nursery – reflected on their contributions to our school community and wished them the very best of luck. It was our pleasure to say a big thank you to Marwan Riad and Paulina Sanchez, our outgoing head students, for all their hard work over the course of the last year. We really would like to thank them immensely for their work in improving life at NCBIS for the student body.
And so to the NCBIS future…. The elections for Head Boy and Head Girl are always hotly anticipated, and this year was no different. Eight candidates expressed a desire to run for these two exciting leadership positions, and after our rigorous selection procedure, based on academic attainment and attitude to learning scores, the field was narrowed down to four. Students then had to submit a written application letter, make a speech to the student body in assembly, which was graded by staff, and then let the students decide with their vote. And what a fantastic set of speeches they were! Following assembly our four candidates undertook an assessed interview with Miss Holt, Mrs Newton and Mr. Rossall, to determine the final outcome of the process.
