43 go ski (and snowboard!) in Passo Tonale, Italy
Last week 43 students and 5 staff headed off to the Italian Alps for what was to be a fantastic week of skiing and snowboarding. We arrived to conditions that can only be described as Artic – the Beast from the East! – as the extreme cold weather had been called, across Europe. Luckily for us it warmed up nicely to -5, with some clouds on the first two days, followed by an amazing 40cm snowfall of wonderful fresh powder and then blue skies.
All our boarding and ski groups made tremendous progress throughout the week, showing off their skills on the piste. Once we had completed our 5 hours of classes each day, there were some exciting evening activities awaiting us, including sledging, night skiing, and a trip to a local hotel for a swim and relax in the games room . Just in case we were hungry, we were treated to lots of delicious pizza and pasta throughout the week, to keep our energy levels high. It truly was a great week! Well done to the ski and snowboard team for being amazing throughout.
